Peggy attended Columbia Union College in Washington D.C. and Glassboro State College in NJ. She then taught school for about 5 years. Art was included in the studies.

After raising her family, she attended Cleveland State in TN, graduating as a RN. She also took some classes at Southern Adventist University in nursing. She studied oil painting from a retired Southern professor, Ruth Zoerb. She has taken various workshops in the TN area and has taught beginning oil in the Bob Ross method. She is a former president of the Civic Arts League. Her paintings may be found in many homes throughout the U.S.

Peggy enjoys impressionistic representations in art and likes her work to look “painterly.” She says that art is more than painting a pretty picture. Art is sharing that special moment in time, capturing that unusual “thing” the way the artist sees it, and sharing this glimpse with the world. Each artist sees through different eyes and perceives a scene with different color, perspective, and emotion. Sharing this gift with others gives them a piece of himself/herself.

Peggy is part of the “Passages” Exhibit at Michael’s Fine Arts & Framing in Dalton, GA for the month of October. ¬†She is a member of the Mixed Media Inspired Artists.
