Julie Sawyer started painting from Jr. High school, entering the Scholastic Art Award shows. She was inspired by many art teachers, before attending Ohio University, Athens, Ohio for Fine Arts, as a Studio Art major, focusing on Painting and Fiber Arts. She’s only attended a couple Art Workshops over the later years and has only shown once before. She usually just paints f own joy, not selling her work. She paints mostly in watercolor, but has painted with many other mediums, and also does photography, quilting, creative sewing, crochet, other needlework, jewelry, and has done some graphic art design.
Julie is originally from Ohio, After she married, she and her husband from Florida was in the Navy, they were stationed in California for 6 years. After he got out of the service, they moved back to Florida, where family was. They always wanted to live in the mountains, so after family was gone, they were able to fulfill their dream and found their dream home here in Georgia. Julie worked on and off part-time. And also volunteered at various nature parks and a zoo as a naturalist.
