Jo had divided her time between Ooltewah, Tennessee and Norway, Maine, since December of 2000.  In December 2016, she and her husband moved to Vermont to be closer to their family.

The award winning artist has had her paintings and sculptures featured at the University of Wisconsin.  In Maine, she has exhibited at Frost Farm Gallery, the Lajos Matolcsy Center, and the Main Street Gallery in Norway, and at McLaughlin Gardens, and Maurice’s in South Paris. In Georgia, she has exhibited at the Harris Art Center in Calhoun, the Colonnade, and Ringgold Art and Frame Gallery in Ringgold, the Tunnel Hill Heritage Center in Tunnel Hill, and Michael’s Fine Arts & Framing in Dalton.  In Tennessee, she has exhibited at Reflections Gallery, Gallery 1401,   the Eastgate Towne Center, and the Jewish Cultural Center in Chattanooga.  She has also exhibited at the North River Civic Center in Hixson, and the Southern Adventist University in Collegedale.

Jo graduated from the McConnell Business School in Minneapolis, and attended the University of New York at Potsdam, the University of Southern Maine, the University of Maine at Augusta, and the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, majoring in Fine Arts.  Perhaps her fondest love of art and sculpture was inspired when she had the opportunity to travel and study in London, Vienna, Florence, Rome, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid in 1975 and 1976.

Jo had been the art director for the Civic Arts League, Inc. from 2006 until 2016.  She is a member of the Western Maine Art Group in Norway, Maine, and a member of the Main Street Gallery.  She is a founding member of an ‘en plein air’ group, The Outdoor Girls in Tennessee. Since 2009, she has hosted a week-long ‘en plein air’ paint-out on the coast of Maine with artists from Tennessee, Georgia, Maine and New Hampshire.

Jo’s artwork can be found at the Main Street Gallery in Norway, Maine.  She also has a four month exhibit at the University of Vermont Medical Center beginning April 23, 2018.
